The beginner’s mind is full of wonder about the universe. If we don’t prejudge things, we are forever curious.
Like a curious child, we are full of innocent interest in people and their reactions.
When we are able to show interest in even our most hateful inner demons (such as contempt, racism, and self-loathing) without judgment, we will find that inner dialogue between ourselves and parts enlightening and transformative.
Buddhists call this kind of open and effortless curiosity about our inner thoughts and feelings mindfulness.
The more curiosity without judgment, the more mindfulness, and the more mindfulness, the faster change happens within people. In other words, curiosity and change happen together if curiosity is accompanied by non-judgment and awareness.
