Positive psychology is not just focusing on positive thinking and emotions, and the focus of its topics is very different and more than that.
In fact, the field of positive psychology seeks to know the factors that cause the growth of individuals and societies instead of withering. Growth is a state of positive mental health, flourishing, progress and success in endeavors without mental illness, full of emotional vitality and positive functioning in private and social realms.
Michalek’s 2009 research shows that only 18% of adults meet the criteria for growth, 65% have average mental health, and 17% are stunted. As expected, maturity is related to variables such as academic achievement, skill in goal selection, high self-control, and persistent persistence.
